  • The Department of Public Health Dentistry deals with the preventive, promotive and curative oral health services at mass level (community level).
  • The department conducts camps and oral health education programs in various schools, institutions, primary health care centers and public and private sector undertakings in rural as well as urban areas.
  • Customized programs like AIDS awareness program, Anti-tobacco campaigns, World Health Day, World oral health day, World Environment Day are observed and conducted in house on relevant dates in the calendar.
  • Certain health awareness programs are also conducted specially for school children wherein the children are educated about how to maintain good oral hygiene.
  • The main attraction of the department is a museum where charts and models have been established for patient education and better understanding of oral health and various available treatments.
  • The Tobacco Cessation Center (TCC) is a component among the current programs of Public Health Dentistry. The goal is to assist the patients visiting the hospital to change their tobacco consumption behavior through quitting or reducing as well as to increase their confidence and commitment of staying tobacco-free.
