Pediatric dentistry is an age defined branch of dentistry which is responsible for fulfilling primary and comprehensive, preventive and therapeutic dental needs of infants, children and adolescents. It also deals with children and adolescents of special health care needs like mentally and physically challenged children.

This department provides holistic dental care to all its patients. Treatment plan for each child is customized asone style and one size doesnā€™t fit all. It is developedkeeping in mind patientā€™s requirement, level of acceptance and tolerance. We in pediatric dentistry are not just tasked with treating the patient but also with character building and behavior shaping. Positive behavior developed in early years, through parting way with dental anxiety and acquiring knowledge for disease prevention make them a well-behaved dental patient for life. Treatment plan is a multistage planning system where behavior building, and therapy go hand in hand.

Department also hasa social responsibility of teaching and training parents and teachers of kids. Department regularly conducts School Dental Health Programs and Parent awareness programs at the department and different educational centers of Ahmedabad city. In this program school going children are screened at their school for dental diseases and their parents are informed for same with a written camp paper. Teacher on site and interested parents are taught dental disease identification and prevention points. This way department is trying to prevent various dental conditions from beginning only.

Department is a tertiary care center for dental diseases involving children till the age of 14 years.
